A quick update

My dog Noah has been diagnosed with a cancer called Hemangiosarcoma, about which my research has found mostly ominous words like:

- rapidly growing
- aggressive
- highly invasive
- highly malignant
- readily metastasize
- "Silent Killer"

He underwent surgery to have his tumorous spleen removed a week ago, and he seems to be doing fine, but it is a short reprieve which is expected to last less than three months.

I am seeing an oncologist this week to learn what my options are.

Your thoughts and prayers would be much appreciated.

David, although I don't pray, you know you and Noah are in my thoughts every moment of the day. I know how much you love Noah, and how hard it is to have a sick animal. Noah is lucky to have such a caring person by his side.

I'm so sorry to hear about Noah! Please give him Rufus' best regards for me. Let's hope all those disheartening words won't apply in Noah's case.

My deepest sympathies -- I hope that Noah is able to beat this damn thing, and that you two will be able to share many more years together.
